So here it goes...
Recently, I decided to open the typhoon shutters on Will's window to let in the light and so his window can be open during the day. That way Will could see his stuffed animals in the morning and play quietly allowing me to catch a few extra minutes of sleep. So, the morning after that was done I half awoke around 7am (which he is usually up and raring to go) just to hear silence. I then doze off for a bit more... 8am rolls around and still he is sleeping! Sweet! So, I wake up (fully) around 8:15am and get my day going. As I exit the master bedroom I hear him awake. He's in his room singing "Ma ma" song and then I hear him say as clear as can be in a loud voice- "I NEED MY MAMA!!" I was then expecting his door to open and have him standing there staring at me, but it didn't. I carefully open his door and there he is in bed singing to me! That is one wake up I absolutely loved!
A day or two later on one of our many walks, Will is pointing and asking what things are- like tree, bird, car, etc. And of course he waves and says "Hi" to everything that passes by. Well, this one car was coming up from behind us pretty fast and Will heard it. He leans over the side of his stroller waving his fist and yells "O Dow!" (in other words "slow down"). It was priceless!
Also, I've been working on manners with him a lot lately. He hadn't really tried to say anything back until recently, but I figured repetition is key, right? So, I give him his lunch one day and ask him what he should say (not expecting any response) and before I could say "We say thank you mom", Will blurts out, "You're welcome Ma". Smartalict!
One day after playing outside with Will and Abby I wanted to sit down in my lawn chair to have some water and relax. Abby decided to be a pest and Will wanted to get into things he wasn't suppose to. I was kinda flustered and just grunt/sighed. So, Will walks over next to me and says, "Mama?" "Yes. What is it Will?" "I ruv you, Ma." and then he walks off smiling! It sure made my day. (He continues to say it to me randomly!)
This past Saturday we were invited to a BBQ/poker game (I don't know how to play poker, but went to prove I exist). As the day turned to night and it got dark, I was still playing outside with Will. He would walk 1/2 down their driveway and point up at the sky and ask, "Ma ma, nigh nigh???" I told him it was night time and he sat down and shook his head and said, "No nigh nigh!" "Not yet Will-Will. But, soon ok?" Then he got up and played for a bit longer.
He has his own language, but he is getting more clear about his words every day! I just love watching him develop!
He took this picture... Reminds me A LOT of my Uncle Jed.
Playing in his hamper
So handsome!
